Nothing's Too Small for God

The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.
Proverbs 16:9
We often hesitate to take our daily affairs to God in prayer. "God gave us a brain, so why shouldn't we use it?" we might ask. And there's no denying the logic of this. But the one thing does not cancel out the other. Even as we make our plans, we can—and should—entrust them to God's care.

It is never wrong to ask for God's guidance, and there's no part of our lives that is too small for God to care about. If we consider our relationship with God to be important, then we should also consider conversation with God to be just as important. Whether we articulate our tiniest concern, or simply allow our minds to meditate on it, we should never shy away from involving God in both the making and the carrying out of all our plans.

It isn’t that we ourselves are qualified to claim that anything came from us. No, our qualification is from God.
 2 Corinthians 3:5 (CEV)
Prayer after thinking about today's devotion:
I place myself in your hands this day, O God. Guide me as I make my plans, be with me as I carry them out, and change me that my plans conform to your will.
