More Faith

Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?
Genesis 18:14a
We often wonder why God doesn't respond to our prayers more quickly... or with the exact answer we imagine we want, for that matter. We also wonder why God won't perform a miracle for us in order to prove that what the Bible says is true. But some prayers will always be answered exactly as we want—prayers such as, "Thy will be done." And some wonders will always be performed upon request, for example, "Lord, increase my faith."

This last prayer isn't a magical incantation, of course. Faith is not a wish to be granted. But the prayer for faith prayed by one who trusts in God's love will always be answered. Though nothing is too wonderful for God, to ask God for a faith that understands and accepts God's will is the best prayer of all. "Although a little faith saves," said Charles Spurgeon, "there is more faith to be had—faith which strengthens, gladdens, honors and makes useful is a most desirable grace of God."

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
 Luke 17:5
Prayer after thinking about today's devotion:
I believe, Lord; help my unbelief. Grant me a faith that sees beyond the difficulties of today and trusts you for tomorrow.
After your own thanksgivings & petitions, close with the Lord's Prayer.
