Alright in the End

Correct me, O Lord, but in just measure; not in your anger, or you will bring me to nothing.

Sonny, one of the main characters in the film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, liked to say, Everything will be alright in the end so if it is not alright it is not the end. This isn't so far from Paul's teaching that all things work together for good for those who love God.

The fact is that God loves us and wants the best for us. But "the best" isn't exactly what we want when we want it. Sometimes we have to hear that the answer is No. Sometimes we even require correction.

And so we trust God that everything will be alright in the end, even as we're experiencing that which we didn't hope for. We don't know everything, but the one who does loves us beyond our imagining.

God sendeth all; 

kind God's blessings fall; 

in love and tenderness, 

he chastens but to bless.

God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
